Congratulations on your selection to the NYSF Year 12 Program!

Securing the funds to attend NYSF might seem challenging, but every year many participants successfully attain their goal.

Tips for fundraising

  • Start early – the sooner you start the better.
  • Speak to a teacher at your school as they may have some ideas.
  • See if a local STEM organisation or business would be willing to help out.
  • Consider sponsorship using a crowdfunding platform.
  • Break down how much money you need to raise into smaller amounts. This makes the goal less overwhelming and helps track your progress.
  • Share your story, your passion for STEM, and your goals for attending the NYSF.

Seek out a local Rotary Club

While Rotary Clubs are not obligated to support students, NYSF Year 12 Participants that are funded by Rotary often retain contact with their supporting Rotary Club long-term and go on to further hone their leadership skills through a range of Rotary opportunities and youth programs.

In return for funding support, participants are often given the opportunity to report back to their supporting Rotary Club by giving a presentation on their NYSF experience or attending other Rotary events.

We encourage you to approach a Rotary Club early for the best chance of securing funding.

You can use the Rotary Club Finder to search for your local Club (input your suburb into ‘Meeting Location’).

If you're having trouble getting a response from a local Rotary Club, please contact the Rotary Contacts listed on this page for your location.

Seek out community support

Similar to Rotary, Lions Clubs are community service organisations that support youth programs. They may provide financial assistance or help students with fundraising activities.

Some local councils offer grants or sponsorships for youth activities, including NYSF. Check with your local council to see if NYSF is something they are happy to sponsor.

Community banks in Australia offer grants and sponsorship programs that support education, youth development, and community initiatives. Bendigo Bank is an example of a bank which could support your goal.
