Speed-Meet Events 2023 – Details and Registration
Speed-Meet is a fast-paced and much-loved part of the NYSF Program where students meet a range of inspiring STEM professionals.
Could you donate your time to chat with a group of NYSF students this January?
A key part of the NYSF Year 12 Program is exposing students to the range of career paths available to those interested in STEM. During the 2023 program, we will hold informal Speed-Meet events in Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide. If you have attended an NYSF Speed-Meet before as a student or an alum, you will know that these are fun and fast-paced events where NYSF students can discuss their education and career pathways with both emerging and experienced STEM professionals.
During this event, you will talk to a small group of students about your career path. The students might ask you questions about your study, research fields, current role, how you got to where you are today, and where you might be heading.
The focus will be on informal discussions where students feel comfortable asking questions. Students will rotate, so you'll have 7-8 conversations lasting 5-7 minutes (the exact split will depend on the number of participants). There will be breaks in the session, during which you will have an opportunity for informal conversations.
We are keen for our 2023 students to meet our alumni and other STEM professionals to learn about their STEM journey.
